Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase anti-malarial tablets? Going to be traveling to some at-risk areas-- specifically Cambodia and Inida. I understand I may need different tablets for the different regions.
Is is possible to purchase malarone or doxycycline in Bangkok?
Where is there a reliable pharmacy/hospital?

Have you tried the major hospitals?

Bumrungrad, Bangkok Christian, St Louis........

There are also several travellers health clinics. One is beside the Holiday Inn on Silom.

Hi mirabelle:

Doxycycline is available at corner drugstores without a prescription

for 2 Baht per tablet under the brand name Amermycin et al.

At my local pharmacy, they didn't have Malarone in stock, but suggested

Chloroquin Phosphate instead, under the brand name Nitaquin -

also @ 2 Baht per tablet and available without a prescription.

As bluffer mentioned, good hospitals like Bumrungrad International

will have everything you need: http://www.bumrungrad.com/

Welcome to the jungle.

PS: at 2 Baht per tablet, 20 tablets would cost 40 Baht (or) US$1

I took Aralan (Aralon?) for two years in Africa - had the most exciting dreams! Though I did wake up screaming from time to time . . .
