Hi,

I'm brand new to the forum and will be moving to Santiago with my girlfriend in less than a week! We'll arrive Sept 1st and through a friend of hers we were able to secure an apartment in barrio brasil before we left. The only problem is that it is completely unfurnished. I was wondering if anyone knew of cheap places in the area to get furniture, or if anyone was moving and looking to sell furniture they have? That overnight flight is going to be rough without a bed to crash on, so for now we might just bring sleeping bags.

And of course, we'll both be looking for esl teaching jobs as well. We've emailed with Communicorp, but know from this site that finding an institute when there is the way to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone would like to go out for a cup of coffee, a beer, etc, would love to meet some new friends.

Try the Bio Bio market on Franklin. It's a huge flea market that also sells lots of furniture. Be sure to take someone that speaks Spanish.
