Has anyone worked for them? They've got a English teaching for Spanish lessons exchange, what do you think?
A new course begins the first Monday of every month. Class times are generally from 9:00 - 14:00 for the morning group and from 14:00 - 19:00 for the afternoon group.
WORK AND STUDY: TEACH ENGLISH PROGRAM
Our Teach English Program in the afternoons is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience in Spain, as well as to help pay for the Spanish course and earn extra money. You will work teaching between 3 and 8 hours a week (at 10 Euros an hour). After you have paid the Spanish course in full, you are paid in cash once a month for your teaching. This means that if you teach about 8 hours a week, your teaching pays for the whole Spanish course. The full cost of the four week Spanish program is 999 Euros (about $999, 635 Pounds Sterling). There is a 200 Euros discount for students who choose and complete the Work and Study option (999 Euros - 200 Euros = 799 Euros).
PRICE OPTIONS:
Option 1: 999 Euros (about $999, 635 Pounds Sterling)
= No Teaching.
Option 1: 799 Euros (about $799, 500 Pounds Sterling)
= Spanish Program plus 20 hours of informal English teaching.
ALL PRICE OPTIONS INCLUDE:
Choice of Programs (Four weeks of Intensive Spanish Classes of 80 hours total plus the option of the Teach English program), Total Program Fees, Registration, Orientation, Welcome Pack, Cultural Adaptation, Tutoring and Counseling, Placement Test, help finding Accommodation (a room in a shared apartment costs 400 Euros for the first month and usually between 300 and 350 the second month), Travel Tips, the Canterbury Club, Newsletter, Graduation Certificate and more.
Any input is appreciated!

Hi,
I don't know about that programme, but I do know for a fact that many Americans/Aussies/Kiwis/Canadians etc. have worked for Canterbury and were happy with them.
They're not the best school, but certainly not the worst... |

I already have a TEFL certificate and I too am interested in Canterbury English's work and study program.
The way I understand it, you combine Spanish classes with one to three months teaching English to help pay for it.
Has anyone done this?
I'd love to hear from you if you've participated in this program. Tell me how it was.
here's the website http://www.canterburyenglish.com/Work_And_Estudy.htm |

Hi, there tesolesp:
So, you are doing the Spanish classes and will later teach ESL? Did they find an accommodation for you, and how much does it end up costing you? How long will you be there in total? Are the Spanish classes good? Sorry for the enless questions... Lisa |
