They can but not with contracts. You will have to work like most Americans. It is possible and there are jobs no matter what people say, if you go around schools you will find work but not before you arrive. You have to be in Spain. |

There are quite a few Aussies in Spain! You'll have to do it like the other non EU citizens....which means you'll have to come to Spain first to find a job.
It can be done! Let us know if you have more specific questions |

Hola,
Yes similar situation for me too as I am a New Zealander. So there is no chance of a job before I leave??? Okay, so is there any easier way to sort out the working visa without coming all the way back to NZL after I have sorted out a job??
Also, what are my job chances in November in Granada and Valencia??

Uuuh,........when they say 'you have to work like an American' it means more than that you have to be in the country to find a job. It also means that you shouldn't expect to work legally. The government of Spain has relatively strict rules about hiring EU nationals only. There are many non-EU citizens teaching in Spain, but they are technically illegal. Means no contracts, no job security, no health care coverage..........it's obviously an acceptable risk to some, but please remember that it IS a risk!!
You might want to read some of the related threads on this forum - there's a recent one with a title about supply and demand that has a lot of info regarding legality/illegality in Spain. |
