Any one out there have any info or had any dealings with this Beijing-based organisaton - COPIT (Canadian Organization for the Promotion of International Trade)

Any input would be welcome.

Mike, I've just done some research for another person (who made a post on this board with some information about this).

I've checked the Canadian part and while I can't say for sure, it sounds fishy to me. It seems to be a business selling TEFL qualifications in Canada - along with promoting free trade and a whole lot of other unrelated stuff.

But part of the claims are things I know to be lies. For eg., the company claims that something like 90% of all large Canadian corporations belong to this "Canada Organization for Promotion of International Trade" - that's hogwash. It also claims that the company is registered and active in all 10 Canadian provinces and that isn't true either.

Here is the contact information supplied by the teacher mentioned above.

"Thanks for your e-mail. I have been working for one year in China. I met many rich crooks like this William. I didn`t sign any contract with him or with one of his schools. I just walked away. Don`t ask me what terrible flats they offer to foreign teachers! Thanks for your help."
