I decided that Daves should have its own theme song so here it is

As sung to the tune of Cheers:

Making your way in ESL today takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help alot
Wouldnt you like to get away...

Sometimes you want to go where anyone can read your screen name
And they hardly ever flame
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name

Like it?

those night when you've got no lights,
The pay check is "in the mail";
And youre DOS has been arrested
So youre searching for some bail
And your entire class didn't show;

Sometimes you want to go where anyone can read your screen name
And they hardly ever flame
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name

Done it! The Daves ESL Cafe theme song
music miestro...

Making your way in ESL today takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help alot
Wouldnt you like to get away...

Sometimes you want to go where anyone can read your screen name
And they hardly ever flame
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name

all those night when you've got no lights,
The pay check is "in the mail";
And youre DOS has been arrested
So youre searching for some bail
And your entire class didn't show;

Thats when you want to go where anyone can read your screen name
And they hardly ever flame
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name

Making a dime working over time;
The evenings looking bright;
And your roomate ran out on their contract,
And didn't even write;
And your landlord doesnt know English...;

Be glad theres one place on the net where anyone can read your screen name
And they hardly ever flame
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name
You want to be where people see not all ESL teachers are insane
You want to be where anyone can read your screen name

This is from the theme of Auf Wiedersehen Pet and I dedicate it to ESL teachers in Germany...

logging on to Dave's site,
In the Morning or night,
That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

Then you teach girls and boys,
In a class full of noise,
That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

Working all day,
For a pitence of pay,
Then blow it all on Saturday night,

And you esl games,
But you know the names,
That's tefl alright.

Working in the sun,
Making lesson plans having fun,
That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

Then a night in the town,
Spreadin' it around,
That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

Working all day,
For a packet of pay,
Saying you'll go home for the 9-5 life,

But then you stay another year,
Cause of the really great beer,
That's teflalright.

Yeah you play the game,
Then it's Auf Wiedersehen,
That's tefl alright.

And you play enlgish games,
But you don't know the names,
That' livin alright.

Yeah you teach your kids games,
Then say Auf Wiedersehen,

That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

That's tefl alright,
That's tefl alright,

For The China (off topic) section, I vote to borrow the theme song for Monk:

"It's a jungle out there" Monk OST

It's a jungle out there
Disorder and confusion everywhere
No one seems to care
Well I do
Hey, who's in charge here?
It's a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what's in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it's amazing
People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time
If you paid attention, you'd be worried too
You better pay attention
Or this world we love so much might just kill you
I could be wrong now, but I don't think so
It's a jungle out there
