I sent him out to pasture.

The information he provides you is very routine and you can find it anywhere else on the Internet.

I found him inattentive, off-focus, not accurate and very quick to place someone in an RMB 3,500 job. I found him simply to be very, very mediocre.

He's just another recruiter, albeit a mediocre one at the very best.

If you need some good recruiters, please let me know...

Alex, why not list the good recruiters here for the benefit of all?

The China Teaching Network has been conducting the business of job finding, contract negotiation and teacher support throughout mainland China for the past 4 years. During this time we have consulted with and assessed thousands of schools, training centers and recruiting organizations and established relationships with reputable, outstanding ones in our ongoing mission to provide foreign teachers a comprehensive placement service (and support network) throughout their entire stay in China

A look at www.china-teaching-network.com leads to a basically empty yahoo/geocities site. You'd think that in four years time and having had the resources to review thousands of schools, they might at least set up a website.

Headoffice based in China, hmmm...Australia PO Box...hmmm...no website...got to give him credit for a nicely written ad though. I've had no dealings with him, but I might have if I hadn't become so leery. If a company's sole existence consists of a PO Box, a free e-mail account with yahoo, and a telephone number, then I think people might hesitate a little given the information provided, but that's just my 8 cents worth.

This, however, is really interesting...compare the following two posts and look at the wording of the two different ads...that might give you a chuckle.

Maybe these two outfits are related, working together, or someone is stealing wording from someone else. Maybe there is a perfectly reasonable explanation. Maybe Bill Ryall would clarify this for everyone. One big difference in the ads is that Bill's top end jobs pay 2000 RMB more than the other ad. Quite amusing really.

Forget the Ryall brothers, go directly to START teach. They work together with the Ryalls, but they actually do a good job and are truly based in Wuhan. PM me for their contact details. The recruiter's name is Lu Xiao Dan (Robyn) and she's good.

DON'T USE RECRUITERS!!!

They more often than not know nothing or next to nothing about the schools they place you with, care even less about you when/if you are placed and surprise, surprise, are in it for the money.

When there are job boards such as dave's and tefl.com, why would you need to bother with these parasites (or is that too nice a description of them?)
