|
|
Hi all,
Three of us have just arrived in Taiwan, Tainan to be more precise, and we are looking for SIM cards for our newly purchased cell phones. 7-11 no longer sells them, and it seems without both a passport (we have) AND an ARC card (we do not have yet), we cannot obtain a SIM card. Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? Or have one they are looking to get rid of? Or know anyone who would like to get rid of theirs?
Thanks for any and all help! |

I asked three Taiwanese people staying at my hostel if they'd mind buying one for me as I was looking for work, and one of them said sure. You didn't think of this approach?
Anyway, I'll have to get a new SIM when my ARC comes through (just in case), but SIM cards are only 350 or so. |

We went to Far Eastone and got a sim card on a tourist visa - they just wanted to look at our passports - mind you it took a while for us to realise this because not many locals knew how foreigners got them now the rules have changed. |

I was told you cant get one with out an ARC, thats crap. I met these guys in Kaohschiung and the took me into a cell phone shop within minutes and 580 NT later I had a sim card and I could use my GSM phone.
Find someone who can speak chinese and they will hellp you out, its crap when people say you need an ARC. |
