How good is this, anyone got it and like it? I am in Korea and the Korean one is useful but not great as it is VERY respectful, more than you would normally be to a person on the street. That said its taught me some phrases pretty painlessly and is a good springboard into learning the language proper (its only 10 classes). If I got and completed all 2/3? 30 lesson packages how good would my Japanese be when I arrived?
I wanna be a little proficient before I head over.
Thanks

Highly recommended, for speaking only though. I've gone through volumes I, II, and now I'm almost through volume III (30 lessons in one volume). It's great for everyday life, however you'll probably need a separate grammar book to go with it to understand why certain things are said a certain way. Another drawback is that it doesn't help much with listening because bascially you just translate sentences. |
