Just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with the Kansai Foreign Language Institute and/or Wakayama City. I would really appreciate any opinions.
Also - this contract pays 300,000 yen/month for working 200 hours a month.
The contract states:
The number of lessons which is required of Instructor to teach is 200 or more (equivalent to 133.3 hours or more) per month. One lesson is 40 minutes long.
Is this fair compensation? I know its a ton of hours, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it for the extra money.
Thanks for any advice!!!! |

thats insane chelsea. fifty classes a week!!??! i cant believe it. you should make 500,000y a month. the legal minimum to pay a full time eikaiwa teacher is 250,000 a month and thats at 25 or 30 lessons a week. i teach privately only and make the same as your place after about 18 lessons.
wakayama city is nice though, a small town. lots of nature on that peninsula. i only passed through though, could get boring. its out of the osaka/nagoya industrial glut but near enough for a weekender. i think your better off with less hours at the primary and get some privates on the side ( at about 4,000 an hour) to pad it. but go for it if your keen |
