Hey
I have two weird questions from my time in Taiwan
Has anyone else - particular mountain-bike riders or hikers ran into a four-foot long snake that is basically a dark ash-brown or black with slight stripes? its basically black.
A Canadian guy told me he thought it sounded like a rat snake until I actually saw what it looked like and they were not similar.
We have snakes in australia - so if there are other aussies here it looked similar to a copperhead in colour but had the body of a red-bellied black snake. It seemed rather aggressive so i had to back-peddle coyly...
Secondly anyone know where woman who are taller and larger breaseted than the average female in Taiwan - and this require a larger size of clothing - can find nice clothes or are we pipe-dreaming?? |

| Nice womens clothes in Tiawan? Oh that's a good one. I suppose you would not want them to be 80's themed too? AHahahah. Really I don't know. I would check out the area by CKS Memorial Hall. I forgot the name but ask around, that district is more trendy high end and has more Western designer lothing stores than anywhere else I saw in Taipei. It's a vey expensive area for real estate. I went to an interview there once. I liked the area, it reminded me more of Manhattan than anywhere in Taiwan. |

Yeah Teacha - i think your right about fashion sense or lack there of - Maybe other asian countries just made me doubt that Taiwan's selection could be so poor.
Wix - yeah i had a look at that, but it wasnt there - mustnt be poisonous... cheers |

| Are you in Taipei? You could try the intersection of Hoping E. Road and Wenzhou Road (or Street?) - there are a few shops there. Also, Zhong Shan N. Road, Section 7 (up in Tienmu). |

I believe the snake that you are talking about is Drymarchon corais. They are in the Indigo Snake family and anyone from the states should be familiar with these as they are one of the largest land snakes in the states.
There is considerable color variation, particularly with age, and I realize that these particularly pics may be a lighter color form from what you saw, but they range from this color through the jet black.

Do a google picture search and you will see the color variation that this genus has

Size wise though I think that you will find it is right on the money.
It is not a poisonous snake and that is why it is not on the list provided by Wix earlier.
They are similar in habits and appearance to the Red belly without of course the red belly. They like water and eat frogs which is what red bellies love to do. Also they are probably a bit larger than you average red belly. They prefer warmer climes than the Copperhead and their color, patterns, and size would distinguish them from an Australian Copperhead. |

Wow! How did you know about Australian snakes? Im actually really impressed.
Have you been to Australia? Or are you from there? The red-bellied black snake is the snake that this one put me in mind of - surely to know that you must have seen one for yourself?
I think your quite on the money with your identification. The snake's head was very similar to the one that I spotted - or nearly stood on... |

| Both Austrailians, that's quaint. Throw another snake on the barbie mates. |

| I used to order my clothes from victoria secret online- the regular shipping is shipped fed ex (so is the rush shipping so don't pay for that!) and the cost and duty wasn't bad- and the clothes were normal and fit a real woman! you just can't order anything that was made in China! sales at the online store are pretty good. |

For some reason I have been thinking that Clark was English, then I remembered he used to be called Wombat (presumably thats what the W. stands for). |
