perhaps you are thinking of Interlang? I have heard about Interlang on this message board, and if you do a search on this site you will find a lot of mention of it!

huh. maybe... Do you know if their website is http://www.transemantics.com ? Not sure, but they had the following on their job ad:

-Paid roundtrip airfare
-Furnished housing
-Monthly salary of $1,500

Does that sound like Interlang?

That doesn't sound like Interlang.

But I just looked at the website and I'm confused. Is there a branch in Turkey? The school on the website is in DC, and I couldn't find anything about job offers...

I googled 'International Language Institute Istanbul' and this was the closest I could find.

Quote:
Kent English Istanbul, Selanik Cad. No. 7, Kat 3-4, Hamiyet Ishani, Kizilay, 06430 Ankara, Turkey; 011-90-312-433 6010; www.kentenglish.com.tr. Many native speaker teachers employed; should have university degree certificate and TEFL certificate. Also in Istanbul: Kirtasiceyi Sokak No. 1, 34714 Kadiky; www.kentenglish.com. Monthly wage $850.
Shocked

There is International Training Institute in ıstanbul that runs teacher training courses such as CELTA and DELTA - but this is not a language school and does not employ teachers.

yeah, I'm pretty confused about their website too cause their ad mentions working at a university in Istanbul (it's on dave's if you search), but their website is all about d.c... They're apparently calling me for a phone interview though so will find out more.

i have never heard of them, but perhaps they have contracted with a univ to do the prep program, something that is very common in the US. Which university I wonder?

This is the Uni:

Looks like almost all the current prep instructors are locals.
