STAY AWAY from Taishan International School located in Taian, Shandong, China. This school hired two foreign teachers on the 3rd of September 2005. They began work on the 5th of September, after being led to believe that on this day, they would only be having a meeting to iron out details of their employment not to begin actual teaching but, it was to actually start teaching and we had no materials to teach with since we were not told we would be teaching this day.
On the 3rd of September, they were told that they would be paid 3000 RMB per month for services rendered to be paid one month after the starting date (a month being 30 days). The administration informed them, on September 30, 2005 that they would be paid 45 days (i.e. the 15th of October) after their first day of employment.
The two teachers were NOT PAID on the 5th of October or the 15 of October. They concluded that they were being given the run-around by the administration of Taishan International School.
As a result, the two teachers have written this warning to any and all other teachers who may be considering employment at Taishan International School. They urge you NOT to work at this school. Based on their experience, it is unlikely that the administration of this school will pay you the agreed upon wages at the agreed upon time.
In addition to Taishan International Schools failure to pay wages to its employees, there were also the constant schedule changes. From week to week even day-to-day, the schedule was different: different classes at different times. This resulted in the two teachers being unable to prepare satisfactory lessons for the students. What is more, there were periods of two, even three classes in a row where the two teachers just sat in the office doing nothing. This situation not only affected the two foreign teachers, but also the Chinese English teachers, as well.

The two teachers are: [email protected] and [email protected]
