I was wondering if anyone has any information on English exams in Thailand. To put it more accurately, I would like to know if there is a national public examination that all students are required to take at the end of secondary school. I'm trying to think of a topic for my MA thesis and as I'm going to Thailand, I would love to collect some material there. I've been trying to search the web, but haven't found anything very useful yet.
Thanks a million for your help! |

I've never heard of any National Exam in Thailand, not to say there isn't one. |

As the others have mentioned above -
I don't think there's a 'standard national exam'
that measures English proficiency per se.
For serious details, you could these 2 organizations directly:
http://www.cuas.or.th/ (CUAS :: Central University Admissions System)
http://www.ntthailand.com/ (NIETS :: National Institute of Education Testing Service)
Unfortunately, these 2 websites are in Thai, although you can find some contact info in English.
You could also try e-mailing the Thailand Ministry of Education:
http://www.moe.go.th/English/ (Thailand MOE Home)

Thanks for your views, I guess I was being a bit too optimistic hoping to find a standard exam...
National Institute of Education Testing Service seems extremely useful, I'll definitely have to contact them. I already tried writing to the Ministry of Education, but without much success. Thanks a lot for the links!
Any info is naturally still very welcome. |
