Nobody has responded for some months now, but I am also looking for info. According to http://www.cuernavaca.ch: "Brief history of language schools in Cuernavaca- Cuernavaca is a city in the state of Morelos, about 90 minute from Mexico City, famous for its spring-like climate and lush vegetation year-round. Since Ivan Illych founded CIDOC in 1961, Cuernavaca has been a center of Spanish language study in which several schools have evolved over the years. The aim of CIDOC was to provide an immersion language experience for missionaries headed for Latin American countries, and was so successful that it soon attracted a secular student body."
I know University of Massachusetts sponsors trips every year for Spanish students. I don't have much information about teaching English, however. Anybody out there?

Morelos is my state. I do not live in Cuernavaca--considering it destroyed by a combo of cynical politicians and multinational companies (Costco detroyed the last green area--over 1000 trees of more than 100 years of age fell to be replaced by a parking lot!). I did, however, live there for about 9 months in 1999-2000.

There are quite a few language schools there--and I believe there was a thread about American English Club not too long ago. Almost none of them want to have legal (FM3-carrying) teachers working for them, but if you are up for working under the table you can probably put an income together (and a day that starts at 7 am and finishes at 9 or 10 pm) by working for several schools at the same time.

Please be advised that those of us who live in eastern Morelos (around Cuautla) consider that we are living in a glorious place, and we cringe every time we have to go to gringofied Cuernavaca.

You so not have to--my feelings about Cancun and Playa del Carmen have been expressed on this forum.

There are many trees in and around Playa. We are surrounded by jungle.

Really.

Not seeing the forest for the trees is another predicament that passes for being informed.
