I think that there are more gentleman posters than lady posters on this forum. Why do you think this is?

A rip in the space-time continuum?

More likely it's the Questions For Men thread. Word got out.

On a tangentially related topic, in the world now, live female births have, for the first time in recorded history, exceeded live male births.

From the Forum to the world, what does is all mean?

I've found that on a few forums. I've found lots of writers revealing their own gender by referring to other posters as "he" when it is only an assumption based on no real indicators.

Maybe there are equal numbers. It's really hard to say without doing a poll, as many of us choose non-gendered usernames.

Ugh. 'Username' is ugly in comparison with "nom de plume".

This bit of info will come as a surprise- women can be a wee bit more docile. Posting can be dangerous!! You can never know when someone will write a nasty reply to your post. Even I -rough, frying pan wielding freakgirl- felt a little intimidated at first.

Careful you might end up the papers and everything if you do that.

Warning stereotypes coming up.

Could it be computers are a geeky guy thing

and

most teachers of young kids are female and so can't come on here during the day because they can't turn their back for one minute.

Perhaps it is because the women teachers are more likely to be living with Turkish men whereas the male posters are more likely to be single and have time on their hands.

I'm married.

I'm going to sort this out. We shall find the answer using a series of polls.

I know more single immigrant women than single men.

(p.s. I think that Turkish guys get a bad rap on this forum)

I see it's your first post Mark. Welcome to the forum Very Happy

Most of the regulars are married, in a relationship and quite a few have kids-both male and female(the posters that is not the kids)

I know my g/f thinks I spend too much time here... AND I do most of the cooking, but she does worker harder than me

I agree. It's just that the very few that are annoying are soooooooo annoying! It's sad, but one or two run ins with a real jerk can make you distrust all of them for awhile...

But it's also that people (generally, not just on the forum) have more of a tendency to talk about and poke fun of negative things than go on and on about wonderful things. Nobody wants to hear others' thoughts on wonderful things, unless it's about music or films, I guess...

Why don't you start a post, 5 things I love about Turkey. We'll get the moderators to delete any bad stuff. We get loads of people coming here to find out what it's like here, which should sell the place more.
