I did a google search on him and it turned up nothing, except for another one who wrote a health book. This one apparently specializes in teaching kids. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not Bauer?
There's one of those who works on education, but I don't know if he does stuff related to children as well.

Bill Bower was a well-loved and respected teacher, who died in December, 2004. I first met him in the 1995 BCC pantomime, when he was persuaded to enter on the final night as one of the seven dwarves ... hilarious, because the guy was about 6 ft 4. That was typical of the man's sense of humour.

At that time, he was head of the science department at Ayazağa Işık. After Işık, he was employed as principal or vice principal at Inan (the boarding school for gifted and poor children out at Gebze), Yzyıl Işıl and finally at Kemer Koleji. Apparently it was while getting ready to go to Kemer one morning that he suffered a brain haemorrhage and sadly died. He was in his early fifties.
