Last year I taught in Prague and couldn't stop meeting expats, but I've been in St. Petes for about a week now and haven't meet one other native speaker. I'm looking for some people to get drinks with after school and such. There must be other new teachers in town and the old ones must know the best places to go. If you're interested in meeting up we can exchange emails.

When I was in St. Peter. about 10 years ago, the American embassy had a bar which was open to expats about one night a week. It was a great place to network. Try giving them a call to see if they still do this. If not, it's possible that the German consulate offers something. Let me know if you have any luck. |
