I'm an American looking to teach somewhere in Europe. I have a degree from a 4-year degree, but it doesn't relate to English or teaching. If I were to get CELTA certified, would I have the necessary qualifications to land a job in Poland? |

I think, considering the particular shortage of native speakers in Poland, a school would employ even without a CELTA. However, they'd use it as an excuse to pay you a lower wage than standard.
I think a bigger problem you would face is making sure everything is done legally, as, from reading here, paperwork for Non-EU members can be particularly tough in Poland. |

Hi
I have just done the rounds here in Krakow. I have a degree (and full teaching qual.) but no CELTA. I have had no problem getting offers - mainly, I think, due to my generic teaching qual.
Point is, I reckon you'll be fine with a degree and CELTA. You're a native speaker, and that seems to count for a lot out here. As to how much money you'll be offered, well, maybe not topline, but I'm sure you're not expecting that, anyway. |

As far as pay is concerned, I'd just like to make enough to live comfortably, do some traveling, and maybe enjoy the nightlife once or twice a week. I assume that wouldn't be a problem. Am I correct in that assumption? |

Yes. You will live very comfortably, especially if you compare your salary with the average Pole. Be choosy with your job offers (you will get them!) and take a few privates.
Nie problem.
