Hi all,

Well,I'm teaching here 3 months now (Shandong);looking for a new position.
I've never imagined it would be so difficult : Most of the offers I get are from recruiters in remote cities or with kids.

I need to find a job for mid Oct .Have no idea how to do it-I'm not too choosy (I think)...Either /or will do (i.e. a city that is "foreigners oriented" or mix age/level students (although I do prefer teenagers/adults :definitely not kindergarten kids) or private language school).Preferably all ,of course.

Any ideas??

Will really appreciate any help.

Michelle

For starters, can you tell us why you want to change job after only three months? Is it the city, the students, the employer, or...? Also, I am guessing you are currently under contract? If so, then you may want to consider the fact that if you decide to pull a runner, your current employer can go to the PSB and terminate your RPF. Even if they don't, without a release letter, you may find it extremely difficult to get a new FEC in another province. If you remain in Shandong, then it may be even more difficult.

Since you don't want to work for a language training centre, then your options are really limited as I would say most public schools already have all the FT's they need for this term.

OK....my agreement was to come over for 3 months and if I like the school (and vice versa) I'll sign a contract.I was promised to have mix age/level students and I ended up with children, just children in a public school. The fact that it's EF with 40 hours hrs a week is not very appealing either....That's it. No problem with PSB although I assume I will need a new Z Visa .

Language training centre ? seems OK to me... I just insist on reasonable hours without kindergarten kids in a reasonably "foreigners friendly" city.

Is it oo much to ask???

check thatsbi.com for a few decent opening in public schools in Hebei province. It's not that far from Shandong.
