I am going to move out there and would like to know about the city.
where are the good places to go for food, clubs, shopping markets...

Jane, there are many “cheese” Chinese clubs in Huizhou. However, some of them are quite bearable. One’s called Parris Springs with regular shows and some late dance music. But they are rather inconsistent with that dance music. There’s a street by “Bin Jiang Park” (my ping yin might be a bit off) where a few clubs are, but again do not expect any western style sports bar there. Now, I don’t know what your age is, but if you are very young you might get a kick out of the Chinese disco and a club called “Happy World” or in pin yin and Chinese Tian Shang Ren Jian. For shopping (clothes) go to the West Lake “shopping street” or “digital street” as the Chinese call it.
