Hey everyone,
Finally got my account activated, and now I get to start chatting with you lovely folks! I have a quick question about the school my girlfriend & I are going to be teaching at this coming September.
We've been hired at the KNS Language Institute, in Kaohsiung, and we have some friends who have been employed by them before, and they loved it. All the contact we've had with them has been excellent & very professional, and the amount of help they are offering with getting set up once we're there is great as well.
My question is, what kind of repuation does this school have amongst teachers in Taiwan. I realize they are a chain (like Hess i assume), and that being said a certain degree of professionalism is expected. My question is mainly because everywhere i look (forums, blogs, net) i cant seem to find anyone talking about this school, good or bad.
Any opinions/reviews would be much appreciated!
Cheers. |

I'm not sure what their ad stated, so I'll give a few details. KNS is a well-established school that hires "all foreigners"---this means that the local staff deal mainly with administrative issues only. They have at least 4 branches around Kaohsiung, I think.
During the regular school year (Sept to June), you'd be teaching about 6 hours a day--probably from 1:30 to 4:30 with one group of 6-8 year olds. Then, you'd have 3 more hours of evening classes--typically between 5 to 9 PM.
The cash would be pretty good, but you will be kept very busy from Monday to Friday.
Best wishes,
Taylor
