I have travelled extensively and have always felt more at home outside the USA. I have never once had culture shock abroad but I have experienced "reveresed culture shock" coming back to the USA.
Has anyone experienced "reverse culture shock" coming back to their respected countries and if so please share your story |

Jamparis,
Are you originally from Jamiaca?
Most Caribbeans that I talk to love thier islands more than anywere else.
I have many friends from Trinidad, Jamiaca, Margerita ( Venezuala ) and while they are earning dollars in the US, man, they miss home terribly.
As for me, I have lived in Trinidad and I love Island life.
This brings me to the point that it all really depends on ones experiences and were one comes from.
I myself do not enjoy California nor the states even though I was raised here. Its not hell or anything, it just does not feel home. I know there are always exceptions but most people I talk to who have lived abroad feel that people are warmer and much more family oriented in the States.
Were are you teaching? and I hope you are having a great time.
Pm me, would love to stay in touch |
