I was wondering if anyone has found any cheap deals to fly round-trip from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro...and if you think it would be possible to get any of these tickets around Carnaval time. Any websites, travel agencies, anything!!! would be helpful!
Thanks!!!

US$200 at the very very best and around carnival i doubt you;ll find anything for less than US$500 unless you book a year in advance. Also be aware that unless you book accomodation a long time in advance you won't have anywhere to stay. And most likely the accomodation will cost 2-10 times more than it usually would. I'm basing this on prices (accomodation) i found in Salvador for Carnival (which is bigger and better) when i was there a month ago and i would reasonably assume Rio is the same, if not worse.
You could get there on the bus for cheaper but, again, you;d have to book well in advance i think... |

Yes... try the GOL airline (http://www.voegol.com.br/), they have cheap stuff... as low as ARS 600 for return tickets. The downside is that you're not given any food in the plane (you're actually starved during the whole flight), the flight attendants are ugly, the pilot is randomly picked amongst the passengers and you never really know if you're not going to crash somewhere in the jungle. But it's worth a try!
Cheers,
Eo
edit - I think someone mentioned gol in another thread as well... |

Just about Gol, is it true that if you are not a Brazilian Resident you can only book with American Express?? Is there anyway around this?
Thanks
