Hello everyone,
I'm very interested in computer-assisted language learning, especially distance learning of English using the Internet. From what I can tell, there are lots and lots of websites out there with content on them that you can use in your classroom, typically in the form of lesson plans or activities. There are a few online schools, too, but for obvious reason they aren't sharing what they're doing and how successful (or not) their methods are. I've found a few professional organizations and journals that focus on the area, but they only occasionally have conferences and articles.
Is there anyplace online where teachers are gathering to actually share notes about what's working and what's not?
It seems there are so many technologies out there that people are probably tinkering with to help others learn English (Skype, Moodle, Hot Potato, etc.), but my sense is that there must be a lot of recreating the wheel going on. |
