For anyone thinking of applying for teaching positions at this school, be wary that they are less than professional with regard to their communication.
After being asked to deliver a test class to the students, I had prepared a powerpoint presentation for the class the previous day on the school's network. This took two hours. However when I arrived in school the next day, the work had mysteriously been deleted. Thus I went into the class slightly unprepared. I also delivered a football coaching session free of charge to the school (I have no qualms about that!)
Moreover, I was told not to come to a meeting 50 minutes before it was about to start (the journey there took me two hours). Therefore I missed a morning's worth of work at my current employers. Furthermore, after they had asked me to call them regarding the position and whether or not I had been successful, they didn't answer their phone all day. It also took them several days to respond to my e-mails.
You can probably guess that I wasn't successful in applying for the job there (I'm being upfront about that!) But if anybody does apply there in the future, just don't let them mess you about.
It seemed like a good school, with good pay and facilities, however it seems I was unlucky to have a few bad experiences with them during my application process... Just to let you folks know!
I am signing my contract for a different school today so all is well |
