I have a list of "suggested" books for my upcoming CELTA course, including "Learning Teaching (Teacher Development)" by Jim Scrivener. Its selling Used at Amazon.com for $100-$200. but you can can the latest 2005 version at Amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1405013990/qid=1129158347/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/026-3455839-9295643
for 16.95 Shipping 6.98 to Boston, USA
I hope its OK for me to post this on Dave's, but this book has got a lot of really good reviews, and the price and availability differences seems to me really silly. |

I bought the two suggested texts for the CELTA at IH Barcelona and upon arrival was told that we would not be using them, and that we needn't have bought them. A big waste of money (and space in my suitcase). Ask the school if you can have the contact info for your specific trainer and see if you will be using the books (they might not be as helpful as you think they will be). |
