Hi there. Anyone know where I can pick up a secondhand mobile phone for cheap? Oh, and I'd prefer if the first hand gave it up willingly (i.e. no stolen goods). I'd like to spend less than 50 YTL. Is this possible? |

a lot of phone shops have some for sale, as people trade them in for the newer models. I don't know about the prices, though. A new basic model is about 140TL |

I love it how on eslcafe, no thread can go unpunished. Seriously, why must someone attack the poster in every single thread?
Why would I buy a 50 YTL phone? Because I don't want one in the first place. I will use it so that my boss can contact me if he needs to - AND THAT'S IT. Why should I pay 150 YTL for that "privilege" no matter how much I make? |

Some people are unable to stand up for themselves in real life. The internet gives them a chance to realise themselves.
................or something
Don't worry about them. They all get their come-uppance |

Sorry CSM didn't know you were so impoverished, still think buying one at that price is risky at best and a false ecnomy at the same time ,you could always resell a decent one later. BA your comments have been noted and ignored in real life I'm a bad bitch you only see my good side here . |

Word to the wise after the 31-10-2005 all cep phones have to be recorded by the line provider. So if you buy a phone off the street or a second hand shop you have to make sure that is production number is recoreded. If not line proivders are ment to cut you off. |

Where can I buy a SIM card for my very old and cheap phone I bought in Thailand?
There was also this compulsion to have the latest phone and the newest ring tone in Thailand. The teachers could never understand why I had such an old phone. I explained that it was big enough that I would not lose it and that it was simple enough that I would use it.
Personally never used one, but with horrendous traffic jams it came in handy to change the place we were meeting to miss some of the traffic.
As for reselling them.....it is like buying a car in the US....take it out of the box and the value goes waaay down!!!
Cheers! |

I think you can just go into any mobile phone shop that is a provider for Turkcell, Taksim, or Avea, depending on which service provider you want. You may have to pay to have your phone converted though... My friend had to pay 50 YTL to have his converted... So, if your phone is really old, it may just be worth spending the 100 or so YTL to buy a new one. |

Wow this is great.. I hope this is an attempt to stop or atleast curtail all the cell phones being stolen. This of course is not good enough. The use of sim cards makes it too easy to steal and resell mobile phones.
The demand for used mobile phones is quite high here and I think this is why so many are stolen. Hehe.. if one is mugged.. the first or second thing asked for us usually your mobile. Buy an inexpensive new one or from a reputable dealer and forget about it. [/quote] |

Yes, but once you remove them from their original packaging, their e-bay value goes way down... |
