I am a US citizen, I have a BA and more than 6 years of teaching experience. I have several certificates in teaching but none have a big name like CELTA. I have done the Korea bit, Thailand and Mexico. I want to head over to the middle east, maybe UAE or Kuwait but would accept Saudi. ANy ideas? Is it doable?
Thanks in advance |

Sgt Killjoy,
The question is why do you want to go to the Middle East. I will assume for the money and proceed from there. With your credentials and experience, there is little in the UAE.
I suggest that you read around on the Kuwait and Saudi boards and see what people have posted about various institutions. The most jobs are in Saudi since it is the largest. There are also some employers in the hinterlands of Oman who are not so choosy.
The majority of well paying jobs in the ME are in universities teaching academic English - mostly reading and writing. But, they tend to require an MA or extensive related experience. (in IEPs or with Arabic speakers)
In your situation you might have to take a job with one of the dicey employers to get your foot in the door and some ME experience to put on the CV.
