| I've been out of Taiwan since August 05. My previous employer has been known not to cancel ARC's straight away. Without actually trying to re-enter R.O.C can I find out if my ARC is still vaild? |

| Call the relevant police station and just ask them. You will need to give them your passport number. Also, if your employer did cancel your ARC then the police would have sent you a letter to your registered address telling you to leave the country in ten days. |

If you are coming back here to work at another job then I would recommend that you obtain a new visa to come back on. There is a chance that your previous resident visa is still active, but if you are no longer working for that employer then the visa is not valid. If you re-enter under that visa you will be vulnerable to your ex-employer cancelling that visa at some stage in the future, maybe without your knowledge. If you have a new visa then you won't need to worry.
Ki is right in that the foreign affiars police in the area that you lived would be the people to speak to in order to check the validity of your ARC. |
