Hi everyone! After viewing this forum for the past few months I am finally making my first post! I am a young Canadian looking to head over to Hong Kong to teach ESL in January. I have previously visited Hong Kong on two occasions and immediately fell in love with the city. For those of you who reside there now, consider yourselves lucky! I envy you! Anyway, I recently received my TESL/TEFL certification through Oxford Seminars. In total I have 100 certified hours. Can anyone tell me if this is sufficient when applying for jobs? Also does anyone know of any kindergartens that have openings? I noticed that Deborah has opening available but I am feeling nervous about applying after reading some of the posts about the school. Also the wage does not sound very good. Can you even live off $10000 HK a month? Thank you all for your help, I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Have a good one! |
