What exactly is required to comply to the new regulations on notorized documents?
Do the documents have to be notarized by a notary in your home country, or a Vietnamese authority?
Which documents are needed? |

Others can answer this about what documents.
But the notarization has been very difficult and frustrating.
There are schools that want certain documents, as in a degree, to be notarized. How can it be? |

All of the required certifications of documents ultimately are Vietnamese, but the criminal record check has some extra requirements that I'll go into below.

1. Degrees and certificates.
2. Criminal Record Check. The criminal record has to go to a Vietnamese consulate in your home country to be translated and verified by the Vietnamese authorities. That document then has to be sent to another agent from your home country authorized to confirm it as a legal document. For Americans this is the Secretary of State from your home state.
