Shane Schools are a chain that I know can give you an interview in London (Saxoncourt Recruitment) and they should be able to offer you different schools/regions in Taiwan. I'm sure the other chains offer a similar service - just check on the web.
Reach to Teach: not sure which schools they recruit for though. The company is a fairly new entity (I think), but all the reports sound good. Mitch would be the person you want to speak to.
Looking to gain experience is an excellent attitude. Interesting that the more qualified you become, the more you realise you need the support.
With a CELTA under your belt already you have a great foundation and you are in the perfect position to get the job you really want. If you want to teach kids, you will have to learn/adopt a different set of skills. Chain schools will certainly help you with this, but if teaching adults is what you want you may already have enough to get started (without needing a chain school to guide you so much).
Wherever you go, whatever you end up doing, just remember to reflect on your classes - it's an effective and honest way of building your experience. If you truly want to learn the trade properly, try and contact some of the teachers at the school before you sign a contract. Look for likeminded individuals. Good habits are infectious, as are bad ones.
Good luck. |
