Hello everyone,
I've been perusing these forums and have found them very helpful. I am planning to go down to BA in January or February to teach English wherever and however I can. I am TEFL certified and have some small experience, but find the prospect of hunting down jobs and lodging daunting.

It sounds from these many forum threads that the most reliable way to get a teaching job will be to show up, make phone calls, go to the city center with a CV, and then visit schools in person to inquire--thoughts, tips, or additions on this? Has anyone gotten really stumped trying to find work this way, or has anyone had any luck procuring work before arriving in BA?

I also wonder about my timing, arriving in Jan./Feb. Will this be a particularly easy or difficult time to find work?

I'd love to hear more about people's experiences living and working in Buenos Aires or greater Argentina, and to make contact with those who are doing so. Feel free to PM me; I'd love to hear from anyone!
All the best,
Michael
