I've been in Japan for almost 4 years and the clothings situation is
getting pretty dire.

I am planning to stop off somewhere on the way back to Aus. to get some
clothes made. At the moment my ticket is through Taiwan. (VN, Thailand HK flights were booked out.)

But, from what I've been reading Taiwan isn't very good for getting clothese made.

Can someone tell me.
1. What would I expect to pay for a skirt or jacket?
2. What is the selection of fabric like? can I get wools ? crepes? (In Aus.
the selection of fabric is pretty limited.)
3. How long does it take to get things made. (At the moment i fly in on the
4th and out on the 9th of December.
4. Somewhere good to go that preferably speaks a little English (or
Japanese.

I'm really keen to get a bit of a feel for Taiwan but if getting things made isn't feasible. I might cut the trip short. or see if I can get a ticket back via Indonesia this tiime.

Thanks very much.

It's too bad you can't return thru BKK. That's the smarter choice. YOu can find tailors here. Do a search at forumosa.com. I remember some threads discussing this topic over there.

Thanks
Unfortunately Thailand isn't an option.

I've looked at forumosa and the feedback there is mostly
don't bother. I haven't got any price info. from there though.
I know tailors vary but I don't have any idea of cost.
Until I get some idea of the price, I can't really determine
whether it is expensive or not.

Clothes in Aus are in general very overpriced if they aren't on
sale esp. considering the quality is pretty shoddy often times.
