This is general travel question, so hope no die-hards are too offended that Im not posting anything about teaching...but then again, mullets, crime, crappy TV shows and more have been discussed at great length, so Im not too worried.

Im heading back to BA tommorow from Mendoza and I need to pop over to Uruguay to renew my visa. Because Im really lazy and just cant bring myself to settle down and start teaching yet, I want to spend a few days in Uruguay, so Im considering going to Punta del Este. Id be arriving on a Saturday. Do you think its worth it to spend the extra time and money to go there, or should I just say forget it and hang out in Montevideo for a few days?

I know Punta del Estes supposedly a nice place to go...but only at certain times of the year. I need to book my Buque Bus ASAP so any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

bus and book an open ended return! a vacio sandwich
and a cold quilmes on the beach... marvellous Very Happy

I'd give my right testicle to go there, so go north young
man and savour the delights!

I don't think there's anything to do there before the summer holidays start is there? And that's when the place fills up with the honeys. And most likely the pervy middle aged men in speedos. Maybe one of the argentine contributors can...contribute?

I love Punta del Este, in fact i dont like Montevideo that much, its not that I dont like it, Its just regular (like everywhere else). But Punta has a charm...Definitely try to go if you are going to be in Uruguay its just a few hours by bus.

It is gonna be empty, since people start arriving in December....but still its worth to visit...!!! (its more expensive than Buenos Aires, well, almost anywhere in the world is more expensive than BA right?).

Enjoy !!!!!
