Okay, if one were to arrive in Santiago in early november, I am assuming it will be difficult but perhaps possible to find a job. However, I've heard there's pretty much no work at all in Jan and Feb. So, does anybody have any suggestions for a minimum amount of money to bring with that would allow a person to survive until March when jobs are picking back up again?

Thinking about moving to Chile with my boyfriend - we both have TEFL/CELTA certificates, but our timing seems to be wretched, so I'm trying to plan ahead.

Thanks for your help!!

I currently spend about $250,000 per month on rent, bills and food. However in the first few months I spent way more just on setting up the apartment and stuff. The cost of living here, well in Santiago, is comparable to the States.

Good luck.
