I am nearly finished a really interesting book called:

The Carpet Wars by Christopher Kremmer

It is about a carpet loving journo who travelled extensively in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Turkish Republics in the nineties.

Possible quiz question The word Turk comes from Tu`kiu-which was the name given by God knows who to the tribes on the far west of China.

I can recommend 'Shibumi' by Joseph Trevian. It doesn't mention Turkey once.
