I am interested in the minture ivory statues that you see everywhere in japan. They sometimes come in sets or can also be found as individual pieces. They are expensive from what I have seen in the stores here. Anyone know where the statues originate from. Would like to get them a lot cheaper than they are here if I could. |

I don't know where the OP lives, but importing ivory or turtle shell art is often illegal.
On a side note, I've found that many Japanese people have no idea that ivory comes form elephan tusks. They are usually mortified when they learn. The still wear the jewelry though. |

Why don't you just hop on a plane to Indochina or Africa and go kill an elephant just for the tusks and make your own little cute statues? |

There are a lot of nice statuettes being made of yak and buffalo bone and there's no danger of these animals going extinct due to yak pouchers. |

Hey Sushi! I can get you a really good deal on some top of the line gorilla hands. And while your at it, would you consider investing in a matching set of siberian tiger rugs? Only the finest quality.
JERK!
Oh! And btw...I have a business acquaintence that deals in human teeth. What kind of condition are yours in? Shall I make an appointment? |
