I am new to all of this. I would be grateful if the more experienced of you guys out there could list descent websites for lesson plans, ideas and supplementary materials (all/any ages/levels). Preferably free ones but I don't mind paying if there are really good sites out there for materials. Thanks Very Happy Very Happy

There are loads of ESL-related sites out there. I can never remember the names, and I never seem to remember to bookmark them, but they`re really easy to find. Example: just this morning, I was looking for ideas for indirect questions. I did a google search for "ESL lesson plans indirect questions" and got loads of options.

Anyway, here are some that I can remember off the top of my head:

--good olDaves (but I guess you dont need help finding this one!)

--eslpartyland.com

--Englishtown (I think its www.englishtown.com)

--about.com (their ESL section might be esl.about.com, or about.esl.com...?)

Aaaaarrrrr... cant remember any more addresses just now.

iteslj.org
The Internet TESOL Journal. They have lesson plans in their archive. It's also well organized.

www.onestopenglish.com
They require registration to access many of their materials, but it is free.

By the way, it is esl.about.com.

Guy is right, there are scads of them. However, who has time go through them all and find the best. I encourage people to post the sites they go to most often.

Try this page for an extensive list of links to games, activities, lesson plans, handouts, and more:

http://www.geocities.com/allhou/lessgames.htm

I would recommend E-mesh and the BBC site, as well as the ones already mentioned in this thread.
