Recently Chiang Mai University has thrown its hat in the ring offering a TESOL Certificate. I don't understand how naive people are to sign up for these courses without researching them. The director of the Program is a man that has no academic background in EFL and the Language Trainer has at most 2 years part time teaching at the University. I recently reviewed their curriculum and found that the Instructor plagarized 80% of the text and paraphrazed the other 20%. Though the information was accurate and up to date. It is offensive (to me) to publish a text as your own if you did not actually gain the knowledge first hand.
How can this school call themselves an accredited institution, if there curriculum and teachers are not qualified. It is absurd that anyone would spend the 45,000 Baht for something that isn't worth the paper in the toliet. I guess the old saying, " Buyer Beware" must be observed when signing up for teacher's training. Good luck to all that take this course. |
