I take it all back. Bahrain IS an Oasis of Cultural Enlightenment. On a recent visit discovered - by chance - that they are putting on the 14th (!!!) Bahrain Music Festival. Went to a performance of Haydn's Imperial 'Nelson' Mass. Wow !
And it was FREE ! |

Keep your eyes and ears open for the next International Festival. Probably just after Ramadan.
Best concerts I have seen for ages. After the Manama Singers doing Haydn I took in another one where the performers were the Royal Omanii Symphony. WOW ! Supercool !
Apparently Sultan Q woke up one morningand decreed:'We shall have a Symphony Orchestra !' And they did. Benevolent Despotism works ! |

| Most probably it will take place after the Eid which will be on the last week of October. Yes you are right about the loonies, thanks to President Bush and his omniscient advisers and consultants. |

The International Music Festival starts on 28th October. Daily performances at 20.00 hours at a TOP SECRET venue.
Admission free !
