I was lucky enough to meet up with Kent from this board and get in a few cold Changs and a trip to the legendary 5star!! I must say I really enjoyed and am looking forward to meeting up on my return journey- hopefully this time on a weekend night!!
Id recommend anyone passing through or in Bangkok to meet up with this chap!
Cheers Kent |

The Orient Hotel could never measure up to the "Five Star".
First, they don't serve large beers, making it harder to keep the flow of "conversation" going. Second, it's too far to the bathroom. Lastly, that's not were Kent hangs out- isn't that reason enough! |

Did someone say Jazz?
New Orleans Jazz Fest fairgrounds.
One of 6 stages.
The man himself, CARLOS.
Kids can dance.
OK, so its not Thailand, but I cant think about Jazz and not think about Jazz Fest. Ive been to several, and its a week not to be missed. I just hope they have one this year even if Im not there to see it. |

Thanks Kent ill keep those in mind and maybe can coincide with my return journey. Like I say, Im looking forward to another visit to the 5star though anyway!
That jazzfest does look very very cool. I was lucky enouhg to go to the Irish version aka the Guiness Cork jazz festival the weekend before I arrived here which was great too... |
