So I'm planning to leave for santigao in Febuary- take a Spanish class and find a job.
But now my friend is getting married on April 22 here at home, the month after the school season begins!!
Does it make that big of a difference on finding jobs? (I have a ba & tefl certificate but no experience)
tnx a bunch |

I arrived in August and had no trouble finding work. I don't think arriving in April or May would make it too difficult, there seems to be plenty of work. |

Most of the schools start their classes around the first week of March. So ideally you'd want to be here in February and get your CV around to as many schools as you can.
However, it is possible to get work at any time of the year, although January and Feruary are notoriously lean. At the moment I'm inundated with jobs offers, which is fab but most of the offers are only for an hour here and an hour there. That's one of the disadvantages of arriving late you tend to have to work for several different schools meaning you are spending lots of time travelling between different locations.
This is only my experience and i'm sure other folk will tell you different. |
