Besides the blood and lung tests, does anyone know when an Ultrasound test became mandatory as part of the examination requirements? I have been in China for 4 years, at the same school and was told that records show I have received Ulrasounds but have never had one unless I was in a coma when they were done. |

Medical examinations are mandatory in order to obtain a Foreigner Residence Permit regardless how of the school (employer) is funded. Currently I am working at a 100% privately funded college and I had to get one.
I have heard it said that medical examinations are mandatory only for Foreigner Residence Permits of 12 months duration or longer. My current FRP is 10 months duration (equal to my employment contract) but I still had to get one.
I have had 3 examinations so far, one in each of three provinces, and each time I have had an ultrasound test together with;
physical examination
blood tests (blood sample taken)
hearing test
eye test
color-blindness test
chest x-ray
ECG |
