I'm assuming that for an eikaiwa interview it's most appropriate to wear a suit. Would it be a bad idea to wear the same suit on the second day if you get called back? |

I think you would be alright with a drastically different colored shirt/tie. Most interviewees are fresh out of college and don't have two suits yet, I sure didn't for my interview. Chances are you won't have to wear a coat to work everyday in Japan, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a few. I'm starting with one of the big 4 in about a month, and I'm taking one suit and a few sport coats that could go with a lot of different pants. If you are in the states Kohls is really reasonable for nice coats and full suits. I even got one at Savers. |

At eikaiwas a teacher may own one suit and change the shirt and tie. The interview is not reallly a fashion show but you are expected to be presentable and wear business attire. It doenst matter if you wear the same suit as you are not being judged on your suit. Just dont wear aloha shirts and loafers.
Some schools even make you buy a suit that you wear to work and is like a uniform. |

I didnt wear a suit to my interview. Shirt and tie only. I did buy a suit and a bunch of jackets to bring to japan which was the biggest waste of money every because I don't even wear them. If you work for NOVA at least, wearing a pair of slacks and a shirt and tie is fine. Jacket is not mandatory (but you get worthless brownnoser points for doing it.) |

I don't think it matters too much if you wear the same suit during the interview process. GEOS was three days long and I was coming from out of town--they kinda expect that from interviewees so it's all good. A different shirt though would be appropriate.
Jeez, I hate dress codes... |
