hi-i have plans to teach in Mexico beginning Jan 2007. i have this summer off so i plan to take an exploratory trip to feel it out. i have an MA in tesol and lots of community college experience, so gearing all my efforts to Universities. where to begin? my spanish could use some improvement so i thought of doing 2-week spanish school/ homestay jaunts in places i'm interested in, and try to make some contacts. i've traveled a bit in mexico, but want to try out some new places as possible teaching sites-queretero, puebla, hidalgo, (maybe DF but am a bit intimidated i must say), maybe cuernavaca, michoacan. all you pros out there, what do you think of my plans? any advice? any other places i should check out?
