Which U.S. State public school system has the easiest route to K-12 ESL certification? I am certified in NY and of course certificates from one state are usually accepted by others but I've mailed in the form requesting a copy and have not heard from them, so I'm preparing for the possibility that I may need to start the process all over. With that in mind, which U.S. State offers the easiest route for public school certification? I heard Florida was begging for teachers. True? What about Georgia?

That's funny. I was under the impression that NY offered the easiest route to K-12 ESL certification...that is, if what you mean by this is being able to teach ESL in public schools. Most other schools that I know of will allow you to be certified in your undergrad subject+passing PRAXIS scores and then add on an ESL Endorsement. Oh, and speaking fluent Spanish helps.
