Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me with this one.
My ARC expires December 1st. I signed a new contract with a different school. They sent the application for the work permit on Dec. 18th. I think it's gonna be pretty tight!
Here are my questions :
Do I need a new Resident Visa to apply for my ARC extension?
If not, do you think I will have time to get to the County Police Bureau in time?
If I need a new Visa, does it mean that, as for the first time I applied, I will have 15 days to apply for ARC?
Thanks,

Normally, you don't need to get a new resident visa unless:
a) Your current resident visa expires.
b) Your employer cancels your ARC, requiring you to do a visa run.
In your case I would recommend you go to the FAP to see what needs to be done. Many people claim to have had bad experiences when dealing with the FAP, I can't say I'm one of them. My advice for dealing with the FAP:
You can never be too humble, or polite.
You can never thank them enough.
And for God's sake, smile! |

Thanks Doc.
I'm not sure what FAP is but I called the CLA (Council of Labour Affairs) last Friday (Nov 24th) and they said that my "work permit" won't be ready on time. They suggested I call the county police station (is it the FAP?). They're going to give me a one month extension. I'm going there tomorrow.
I'll let everyone know how it ends...
Thanks again |
