Hey all,
Thought is might be useful for people looking for ESL work in Mexico to create a database of sorts of all the schools that people here have worked for. First just some general info, name of school, location, wage, regular hours, the range of students (age and english level), what facilities are available for teachers (photocopiers, computers, net access, etc), does the school provide assistance in getting visas, housing, etc. and maybe some pros and cons of your experience with the school and any other useful info you can provide. I know this would help me a lot, as well as all the other newbies, and people already in Mexico looking for a change. Thanks in advance

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/alphabetcity/mexico.html

Although this information would be helpful I think it would end up being WAY to much information and may actually make the whole process more difficult. Without taking into consideration cost of living comparing salaries would not be very useful. Pros and cons would also depend on your expectations, teaching ability and the like. Also, the shear number of schools in Mexico is baffling. Are you talking private language school, prepa, etc. I think you are best off decing first where you want to teach and then getting the feel for schools in that area. |
